The Pain Is Where The Power Is

The font for the Bulletproof Ballerina logo was chosen very carefully – it was chosen for you. It was chosen to represent a powerful message for you to carry with you every time you see it. It was chosen to be a beacon of light in your darkest hour. It was chosen to reinforce your willpower, drive, and hope when you feel like all hope is lost.

The crinkly, cracked letters in the font are meant to represent your life – to remind you that things aren’t perfect. There are cracks and imperfections there. Yet, those cracks and imperfections are nothing to be ashamed of. It’s those cracks and imperfections that give you the ability to craft your character and design your life. It’s those cracks and imperfections that give you your power.

Often, we try to hide our flaws, our moments of weakness, our mistakes, our pain. We label these parts of ourselves as "bad" and waste our energy either wishing they didn't exist or overcompensating for them. But, the dirty little secret is that the pain is where the power is. The pain has the potential to make you badass. It’s those imperfections and hurts, those past trials and tribulations you went through that give you the impetus to rise up. They are the crucibles that make you powerful. Your challenges give you strength and resilience because they call on you to be more…to learn new skills, to push through something you weren’t capable of before, to become a better version of yourself.

Be the badass you already know you are deep down inside. Don’t apologize for it. Don’t wait to be recognized. Don’t pretend like you have to push your power down until you are “perfect.” We all have flaws and imperfections. Don’t hide your gifts and be ashamed of where you are on your path. We are all works-in-progress – don’t wait until you are “perfect” to show yourself.

It’s the challenges you overcome that build you. It’s those cracks in your armor that allow your growth to happen. You can’t grow if you are confined to an impenetrable container. The cracks and imperfections let the light in…they allow you to expand your world and evolve. Embrace your flaws as part of your journey. Break out of your shell and transform. Welcome the pain as just another opportunity to win.

There’s power in saying, “F*ck you Pain, you will not destroy me but make me stronger.”
